All about Bioneuma

A project that aims to transform the idea of an innovative style concept for the fashion world to include ethical values that cover the whole productive and commercial chain, paying a close eye to all environment concerns.

 What is your philosophy?

Bioneuma began by launching a pseudo-basic garment collection, produced from organic cotton, using only high quality combed cottons. This was our demonstration that quality and beautiful fabrics are not just reserved for top fashion brands.

What has changed since you began? What new directions are you moving in?

After a couple of seasons Bioneuma gained the confidence to offer innovative fashion collections with a strong personality whilst still remaining loyal to our principals of eco-sustainablity.

How much does style count in your collections?

Style assumes a major role in the metamorphosis of the collection from semi-basic to a new product that we like to call “Expressions without limits”. The garments from our collections allow everyone to express their own personal creativity and personality thanks to the many possible ways of wearing them (back to front, under/over, base layer/external, layering) always mainataining a strong sense  of femininity.

How do you research your materials?

What we choose to use is fruit of careful research during the textile and fabric fairs, through discussion with our suppliers and even through developments created directly with the fabric/yarn producers themselves. We have made huge steps forward  in this regard in the autumn/winter collection 2012/2013, in which, apart from organic cotton we have used alpaca, dyed in natural colours, that ranges from super light, floaty fabrics to heavy weight, moldable garments.

What would you change in the eco-sustainable fabric/fashion industry? What needs to be done for an increasing number of companies to take this development seriously? (Many brands just produce eco-capsule collections…)

We believe that the fashion and textile industries take little note of eco-sustainable collections because they are used to working to rigid methods, but they are not taking into consideration a world that is changing enormously and very quickly. We believe that companies should become aware of this fact and put behind them the fear of seeming less credible in the eyes of the fashion world. A strong example set by luxury and top brands would be an important message to give the right weight and attention to eco-sustainable fashion.
