C.L.A.S.S. welcomes SENSIL® BioCare by Nilit

C.L.A.S.S. Eco Hub Global Platform questionnaire for NILIT

Interview responses by Sagee Aran, Head of Global Marketing

Can you share with us – in synthesis- the NILIT sustainable strategy as a company?

At NILIT, our sustainability strategy is rooted in tackling the challenges the textiles and apparel industry faces and enabling the industry to move to a more responsible and sustainable position. Specifically, we strive to develop products and processes that reduce waste, preserve water, protect ecosystems, reduce CO2, rely less on fossil-based options to improve lifecycle analyses, and use more recycled content for increased circularity. We focus on developing innovative products then manufacture them in the most environmentally responsible way possible according to our Total Product Sustainability criteria. We ensure that our SENSIL® premium Nylon products contribute to high-quality, long-lasting apparel that enhances a consumer’s satisfaction and sense of well-being.

What about your Sensil sustainable products portfolio and key profile : from a performance and responsibility perspective ?

If apparel doesn’t perform or meet the quality or durability expectations today’s consumers have, then it cannot be considered sustainable in the first place. We engineer our SENSIL® premium Nylon 6.6 products to meet the industry’s highest quality standards and also work closely with our like-minded value chain partners to develop and design innovative fabrics that inspire truly sustainable collections that consumers will enjoy for years.

Our SENSIL® portfolio includes a full range of sustainable performance products. Our newest SENSIL® BioCare addresses the issue of anaerobic biodegradation in oceans and landfills, helping to mitigate the buildup of textile microplastic waste. SENSIL® WaterCare eliminates 100% of the water required for the traditional wet dyeing process, not to mention the energy and pollution risk association with that process. SENSIL® EcoCare and SENSIL® EcoCare Breeze with cooling action utilize recycled Nylon while providing the same performance and aesthetics as Nylon made with 100% virgin materials. We are finalizing the introduction of additional SENSIL® products to reduce CO2 generation and increase use of non-fossil feedstocks.

Why Nilit and Sensil, which are the key differential point to drive market choice toward you ?

NILIT is fully committed to designing and engineering the world’s best and most sustainable Nylon 6.6 for apparel. Our SENSIL® portfolio includes premium products that deliver outstanding performance, durability, and aesthetics as well as help address some of the industry’s most pressing environmental issues. We manufacture these remarkable premium Nylon products according to our strict Total Product Sustainability criteria to ensure that they are made with care for people and planet.

Our value chain partners can count on NILIT to collaborate in the development of sustainable fabrics that strongly appeal to brands and retailers as well as conscious consumers. We will work with our partners to create customized, targeted content and co-marketing materials to effectively communicate the sustainability and performance benefits of SENSIL® premium Nylon to customers and consumers alike.

NILIT also invests in innovative partnerships to help address the industry’s environmental challenges. We recently signed on with The Ocean Foundation to restore and conserve critical marine grasslands that reduce atmospheric CO2, support healthy waters, and protect coastal communities. Together with The Ocean Foundation, we can work to lessen the impact of textile waste build up on ocean ecosystems.

Why are you teaming up with C.L.A.S.S.?

The reason for choosing to team up with C.L.A.S.S. is due to the fact that the Organization’s core values and actions are aligned with NILIT’s sustainability strategy for

ensuring the entire textile industry is proactive in its efforts towards preserving planet Earth.
