Susan Woo is the first fashion designer that Jill Heller, our New York partner and The Pure Thread founder, presented to us when we were in NYC. It was “love at first sight”: Susan chose some fabrics from the CLASS eco-libary immediately, for example Newlife™ from Gruppocinque and a carded wool fabric from Lanificio Fiaschi. Susan Woo is now presenting her AW 14/15 collection to the trade, it will be available in selected stores from September.

Susan Woo was born and raised in New York, the fashion capital of the world. Growing up surrounded by the creativity and pulse of the fashion industry, Woo cultivated her strong opinions and style from an early age. She aims to create beautiful clothing that reflects a woman’s lifestyle in addition to her personal style. SUSAN WOO offers a full range of ready-to-wear for the modern, chic and professional woman.

Continuing her passion to start her own company one day, Woo studied Fashion Design and Business at Cornell University. Her luxury background was developed with companies such as Louis Vuitton, Derek Lam and Chanel, thus influencing her taste for quality and design.

The collection is produced entirely in the United States, with most pieces being made locally in New York. Not only does this ensure an excellent standard of quality, but also supports manufacturing in New York’s historic Garment District.

SUSAN WOO has been featured in Vogue, Oprah Magazine, Style.com, New York Magazine, Daily Candy and Nylon. Her fans include style icon Olivia Palermo, Kristen Bell and Mila Kunis.

Recently, SUSAN WOO has been named a recipient of the 2013 Ecco Domani Fashion Foundation award, which recognizes emerging talent. Past winners include Proenza Schouler, Rodarte, Derek Lam, Alexander Wang, Zac Posen and Prabal Gurung.
