ECOTEC® BY MARCHI & FILDI: BEAUTIFUL, ITALIAN AND MARKET SAVVY.

The smart cotton ECOTEC® by Marchi & Fildi, made in Italy is obtained through an exclusive production process, completely traceable and certified, which transforms pre-dyed textile clippings in 100% cotton yarn with a record saving of water and energy: up to 56,3% less impact on the greenhouse effect, up to 56,6% less energy consumptions, and up to 77,9% in water consumptions in the whole productive process. Efficiency does not stop here; fundamental is the saving of raw material, as the process allows transforming quality waste clippings into excellence through a process of pure valorization.
In other words, a new generation cotton. Thanks to the exclusive Marchi & Fildi process, the remnants obtained by the production of garments are recovered and transformed into ECOTEC® yarns, allowing in this way the utilization of less resources, whilst keeping high quality standards and performance. All of these processes are guaranteed by the main certifications on the market. To this day the ECOTEC® certifications are Oeko-Tex 100, GRS (G
lobal Recycled Standard), Certified Quality System Company ISO 9000:2008, TF (Traceability & Fashion), LCA (Life Cycle Assessment).

ECOTEC® the choice of premium brands
Marimekko
Marimekko is a Finnish design company renowned for its original prints and colours. The company’s summer 2016 collection included a jersey series called Stripe 15 made with ECOTEC® yarn from textile industry waste. The company’s designer fell in love with the fabric’s rough and dry, slightly linen-style feel, and the recycled material was chosen to the collection as it also performed very well in tests.

Eileen Fisher
For the SS 2016, Manifattura CBM created a poncho for Eileen Fisher. The fabric is realized in ECOTEC® Polaris yarn (65% ECOTEC®, 35% CO). As stated by the brand: “Spun from garments or cutting room scraps, recycled and reclaimed cotton yarns have a speckly, mélanged effect. Their environmental advantage: They eliminate farming, harvesting and ginning, reducing both energy and transportation needs”.
