Introducing Autumn/Winter 2016/2017 Eco-Smart Collections

We are proud to announce the latest innovation and the new collections of the Italian and international brands represented by C.L.A.S.S.

ECOTEC®

ECOTEC® is the first “smart cotton yarn” developed by the Italian company based in Biella, Marchi & Fildi, that offers an extraordinary quality and record water savings through the lifecycle as a the direct result of an innovative and exclusive manufacturing process which is certified, traceable and Made in Italy: the processing of pre-dyed, pre-consumer textile clippings and is the first cotton yarn that sets new efficiency standards by reducing the impact on the greenhouse effect up to 56,3%, saves on energy consumption up to 56,6%, and also on the use of water by up to 77,9% on the basis of the Ecotec® life cycle study carried out by ICEA.

Re.Verso™

Re.Verso™ is the first and only open platform for re-engineering wool and cashmere materials for fashion. It was founded in September 2014 by a group of leading companies in their field (Green Line, Nuova Fratelli Boretti, A. Stelloni Collection by Mapel, Filatura C4 and Filpucci) to produce not only innovative, high quality and beautiful yarns , knitwear yarns and fabrics, but also improve their production chain. After only one-year, some Re.Verso™ cashmere fabrics by A. Stelloni Collection by Mapel for fall/winter 2015/16 were selected as the material of choice for some GUCCI menswear, womenswear and childrenswear collections that have been available in stores since May 2015.

Filatura C4 and A.Stelloni by Mapel will present the latest Re.Verso™ innovations to the far east market by attending the most important fairs in the field in Shanghai: Filatura C4 will be at Filo Shanghai (Hall 6.2 booth N18) and A.Stelloni by Mapel will attend Intertexitle (Hall 6.2 – G54).

Okinawa

Okinawa, is based near Padova (Italy) and is renowned for its quality, creativity and sustainability. The company focuses especially on the leather market. And for the fall/winter 2016-17 season Okinawa presents its latest, unique and quality materials as well as its own special ennobling processes. Denim Leather™ is an innovative dyeing and finishing technique for leather and eco-leathers inspired by the look of denim achieved with completely indaco and guano vegetable dye stuff. . This leather acts just like denim cotton jeans, in that it ages and color degrades during washing, as the material is washable , achieving that natural used look that makes denim so fascinating. A unique in the world process for an outstanding and unprecedented result.

GruppoCinque

GruppoCinque, based in Como (Italy) is opening the fashion season with some great evolutionary innovations. The new collection offers creations with a strong emotional impact and a fresh and elegant aesthetic with color accents on a neutral base and a contemporary and smart interpretation of nature. Two complementary lines are proposed: GruppoCinque Collection, a triumph of color for in fabrics with new combinations of wool and silk that have Newlife fiber in their texture, and the Swing Collection, that combines natural elements with an eco-smart elegance to achieve a new level of “smart contemporary luxury”.

Asahi Kasei

Asahi Kasei, a leading Japanese company in textile innovation, upgrades its unique Cupro™ range with 3 new qualities: New Cupro Micro, Cupro Full Dull and Cupro Staple Spun; Cupro has been selected by famous brands like Maison Margiela and Diesel. Asahi Kasei recently developed 2 new lines for ROICA™, its premium ‘Advanced Fit for Living’ stretch fiber: ROICA™ Eco-Smart, the first GRS certified sustainable premium eco-stretch and the ROICA™ Colour Perfect family: the only tone-on-tone deep dyeable premium stretch that can be colour matched to all the key base fabrics cotton, wool, silk included for the first time.

Miroglio Textile

Miroglio Textile, a company based in Alba (Italy) and owned by Miroglio Group, has recently invested more than 25 million euros in research and technology focusing on innovation, quality, service and sustainability, transforming the business into one of the largest print houses in Europe. Miroglio Textile digital technology means 3.2 million liters of water can be saved, which is equal to the daily water needs of one million people.
