C.L.A.S.S. featured as a special eco-fashion partner at the 2011 RITE Conference.
C.L.A.S.S. proudly joined forces with the RITE Group once again to bring its visionary platform to the annual sustainable textile conference, which took place on 12th of October 2011 in London.
As part of its ongoing mission to bring sustainable innovations to the forefront of commercial and retail fashion processes, C.L.A.S.S. took the opportunity to showcase seventeen cutting-edge designer garments and accessories produced using entirely sustainable materials. Brands featured were from the UK, Italy and as far afield as Japan. C.L.A.S.S wanted to demonstrate to leading brands from the UK how fashion and sustainability could work hand in hand. C.L.A.S.S set out to show the commercial partners in attendance that there are innovative and sustainable textiles readily available in the marketplace. Here some of their brand names: 959®, Così Nero Quasi Blue, Gamura, Kenland Linen, KreisiCouture, Massimo Tevarotto, MaxJenny, Of HandMade, Outsider Fashion, Partimi, Rizieri®, Sofia Retro Bazar, Silenzio Stampa by Alice Visin.
C.L.A.S.S. Founder Giusy Bettoni says: “Our technical partners newest commercial developments show that style & sustainability can and should share the same platform. From high end luxury brands to innovative young designers the C.L.A.S.S eco library is proving to be a unique resource globally and has been growing from strength to strength.”
C.L.A.S.S.’s newest technical partner Filatura Miroglio provided all delegates a bespoke bag made from an exciting Newlife ™ fabric. Newlife™ is a brand new concept in recycled polyester, it is based on a unique and entirely Italian supply chain: from the sourcing of post consumer selected bottles, to their transformation into polymer via a mechanical not chemical process, and the spinning at Filature Miroglio.
The RITE conference aims to provide information and advice about sustainable textile manufacturing and provides a platform for textile producers and designers to meet, discuss and act. The event attracted interest from high profile faces of the fashion world such as Boden, George at Asda, Marks & Spencer, H&M as well as from political forces such as Baroness Lola Young and WRAP, who all came together to lend their support to this popular industry event.
