This week Giusy Bettoni will bring C.L.A.S.S. in the Philippines!
The main event is Design Talks on October 16th, opening day of the Manila Fame fair (the country’s premier trade platform for exports and design, from October 16th to 19th). Design Talks is a meeting on design and sustainability featuring notable names in the local and international design industry.
More on Design Talks
Design industry practitioners and design aficionados are gearing for a two-day intensive yet inspiring encounter with the country’s – and even the world’s – key personalities in the creative industries in the forthcoming Design Talks slated at the SMX Convention Center, Mall of Asia Complex in Pasay City on March 14-15.
A potent avenue to gain insights and inspiration from the knowledge and experiences of design icons from here and abroad, Design Talks is the banner event of Design Week Philippines, a multi-faceted platform that brings together creative visionaries from diverse backgrounds and disciplines in a series of programs and events that celebrate design and artistry.
Invited speakers for Design Talks include graphic designer and illustrator Dan Matutina, advertising bigwig Merlee Jayme, architect Paulo Alcazaren, and Shanghai-based ‘starchitect’ (star architect) and designer Lyndon Neri.
The Design Talks will be divided into two tracks: Good Design + Communication and Good Design + Business. The first track, set on March 14 at the SMX Convention Center Meeting Rooms 7-8, will focus on the intersection between using design and the communication tools and technology to engage the end-users. The second track, set on March 15 at SMX Convention Center Meeting Rooms 7-9, will attempt to find a balance between design and business, and how to find the middle ground between the two.
Dan Matutina was recently awarded the Art Directors Club Young Guns Award for 2013 (Year 11). He is the co-founder of Plus63 Design Co., a design studio that creates brand identities and strategizes communications, as well as design and illustrate for print and web. He has co-directed commercials, designed short films, made maps, created lamps and sculptures, and even “designed food.”
