Connecting the Dots: Sustainable Fashion, Health & Beauty

New York City, 10-12 July. Three days of workshops, panels and an eco-tour around Manhattan. Giusy Bettoni will explain her vision about ecofashion.

The main event will be held at The Fashion Institute of Technology’s Great Hall, with other locations throughout FIT and New York City. The goal of the event is to provide information and a dialog on the state of sustainable fashion, health and beauty.

The Symposium

“Connecting the Dots: A Sustainable Fashion, Health and Beauty Symposium” will be keynoted by Giusi Bettoni, founder of C.L.A.S.S., whose talk is entitled “Welcome to the Third Dimension: Where Design and Innovation Meet Responsibility

Other panelists include prominent experts and entrepreneurs from sustainable fashion, marketing, and beauty industries.

Sustainable Fashion Tour of NYC

Day three is a Sustainable Fashion Tour of NYC with “Sustainable Fashion Conspirator” and journalist, Amy DuFault. Participants will tour some of New York City’s top brands, including a visit to EILEEN FISHER headquarters to talk to the sustainability team over breakfast, the Textile Arts Center to learn about natural dyeing, weaving and participate in a sample sale, a tour from top to bottom of Nanette Lepore’s fashion district building to learn more about Made in the U.S.A and finishing off at Stoll to learn more about large scale knit manufacturing, zero waste denim technologies and to see an archived knitwear collection from the past 100 years.

I am very excited that we are able to offer 3 days of events around sustainable fashion, health and beauty” stated Christine Helm, Director of the Enterprise Center at FIT. “We are building on the excitement, exchange of ideas and knowledge that we started with last year’s event“.

Tickets are available for individual days or for the entire event and the cost is $75 per day.
